Club Report: November 2023 Newsletter

A note from the Pittsboro Club

Traci Newby, Club Executive Director

The Pittsboro club is thrilled to share the exceptional progress of club members and in particular, our Choir and Dance Team, who are continuously shining and performing at various engagements. The talents will be showcased at an upcoming local basketball jamboree, a testament to their dedication and skill.

In a heartwarming initiative, our Torch Club recently organized a moving Survivor Walk, a tribute honoring cancer survivors that includes one of our club parents and a staff member. It was a special occasion that resonated deeply with our community, reflecting our strong bond and shared support for those affected by this challenging journey.

We’re eager and enthusiastic about the opportunities and experiences that lie ahead, as we continue to flourish and thrive in our mission to empower and uplift our members.

A note from the O.T. Sloan Park Club in Sanford

Christina Patterson, Club Executive Director

At our O.T. Sloan Park Club, our art room leaders have been working diligently to prepare for our annual Art Show in January. This event will showcase the impressive artwork created by our club members, and some of these pieces could even make it to the National Fine Arts Program.

As we get report cards this month we’re excited to see how our members are doing in school. We’re also thrilled to share that we’ve teamed up with Lee County Schools to offer tutoring resources. This collaboration strengthens our ability to support our members’ education. It means we can provide more help to ensure they do well in school and reach their full potential.
