Club Report: August 2023 Newsletter

A note from the Pittsboro Club

Traci Newby, Club Executive Director

We have been on the GO this summer! Our male members visited Alamance Barbering Institute for haircuts on Mondays and Wednesdays. All of our members can visit the Pittsboro Pool for private swimming time on Thursdays and Fridays. Finally, our members are participating in weekly field trips including: Greensboro Science Center, Jordan Lake, and Sky Zone. We still have more coming up!

Club members have participated in Summer reading, spelling, and math competitions. We are looking forward to hosting our first “Back to School” event for our members as we prepare for the upcoming school year!

Dyan Lofgren, Club Executive Director

We have had many adventures this summer.  We’ve been roller skating and bowling.  We’ve enjoyed time together at the Splash Pad. We’ve been on college visits.  Future leaders spent time learning what characteristics are essential for a great leader. We are looking forward to attending a Fayetteville Woodpeckers baseball game and spending time at Defy Gravity.  We spent time learning about campaigns and candidates.  We are stretching our minds and bodies.

Upcoming events:

September 5: OPEN HOUSE – 5 PM to 6 PM
September 15: OUR FIRST TEEN REC NIGHT from 6 PM to 8 PM

A note from the O.T. Sloan Park Club in Sanford

Christina Patterson, Club Executive Director

Our kids at the Sanford Club have been very excited about all of our summer activities! They have been especially enthusiastic about our field trips, which are always the highlight of our staff’s summer, too. Our members are also enjoying pool time, summer reading, arts and crafts, and energizing programs that keep our members moving and engaged.

Upcoming events: August 4th is our last day of the Summer Bash. We plan to celebrate with water activities and the color run!
