Sanford, NC – In a remarkable display of community support, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Carolina has successfully reached its $250,000 matching goal, as announced earlier this month. The philanthropic challenge, backed by an anonymous donor pledging to match all
contributions made to the organization through the end of 2023, garnered an impressive response from the public.
Sarah Womack, CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Carolina, expressed appreciation for the community’s generosity, stating, “The response from individuals in our three-county area has been extraordinary. The collective effort to meet the $250,000 target is a testament to the
community’s commitment to the well-being of our youth.” While celebrating this achievement, it’s important to note that fundraising efforts are ongoing, with the aim of covering the organization’s annual budget of nearly $2 million. The funds raised through this initiative will be instrumental in sustaining and expanding the Boys & Girls Clubs after-school and summer-long programs. Serving over 700 children organization-wide, these programs cover a spectrum of crucial areas, including academic support, substance abuse prevention, mental health services, leadership development, and career exploration. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Carolina remain steadfast in their mission to empower and inspire young people to reach their full potential as responsible citizens. The success of this matching gift initiative reflects the community’s dedication to fostering positive change in the lives of the next generation.
Gratitude is extended to every donor, supporter, and advocate who played a role in making the matching challenge a success.
