About the Pittsboro Club

The Pittsboro Boys & Girls Club is the newest site of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Carolina. Early in 2021, Rev. Samuel Lassiter and Kyle Shipp, a member of the Pittsboro Board of Commissioners formed a steering committee to start the Pittsboro Boys & Girls Club. Thanks to the dedication of the steering committee members and their fundraising efforts, our Pittsboro Club Site location began serving youth on October 18, 2021.

Traci Newby joined Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Carolina since 2018 and is a Club alumnus. Born and raised in Chatham County, Traci is a product of the Chatham County School system and a 2019 graduate of Arizona State University, with a degree in Family & Human Development. He stands by the statement made by Rita Pierson that “Every child deserves a CHAMPION. An adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection and insists that they become the best that they can possibly be,” and is dedicated to providing that to every club member.
