Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Carolina Names Mary Murphy, CPA as New Chief Finance Officer

Sanford, NCBoys & Girls Clubs of Central Carolina (BGCCC) is proud to announce the appointment of Mary Murphy, CPA, as the organization’s first-ever Chief Financial Officer. The addition of this key executive leadership role marks a critical step forward in BGCCC’s efforts to build a stronger, more resilient foundation for the future.

Murphy brings more than a decade of cross-sector financial experience and a deep-rooted passion for youth development. A certified public accountant with a Master of Accountancy from the University of South Florida, Murphy began her Boys & Girls Club journey in college as a Program Leader at the Clubs of Tampa Bay. Her career spans public accounting, healthcare finance, and nonprofit leadership—including a previous tenure as CFO for Boys & Girls Club of the Sandhills.

“It’s a privilege to help lead BGCCC into a new chapter, with a renewed commitment to the bright futures of the youth in our community,” said Mary Murphy, Chief Financial Officer of BGCCC. “When people invest their trust in a nonprofit—whether it’s through a donation, a partnership, or enrolling their child—it’s a responsibility we take seriously. My role is to ensure our financial practices live up to that trust every single day.”

“Mary brings the financial expertise, mission-driven mindset, and deep belief in what’s possible that align perfectly with our vision for the future,” said Dr. Fallon Brewington, Chief Executive Officer of BGCCC. “Her appointment reflects our unwavering commitment to operational excellence, transparency, and responsible stewardship. As we continue building a strong and visionary leadership team, this moment marks a new era of purposeful growth—one where bold leadership and mission-aligned strategy come together to create brighter futures for the youth and families we serve.”

“We are thrilled to welcome Mary as our new Chief Financial Officer. Her expertise and leadership come at a critical time as we strengthen our financial foundation and drive forward our strategic vision,” said Kyle Shipp, BGCCC Board President. “The Board is confident she will play a key role in advancing our mission and impact across the communities we serve.”

As CFO, Murphy is leading comprehensive internal financial reviews and supporting the rollout of enhanced fiscal policies, modern systems, and long-range financial planning. These steps are designed to ensure greater transparency, strengthen donor confidence, and position BGCCC to serve more youth through high-quality, sustainable programs.

Her work will also support the Club’s ongoing investment in professional development and staff recruitment efforts—two core pillars of BGCCC’s long-term vision to build organizational strength from the inside out.

This announcement comes as BGCCC prepares for a series of bold initiatives aimed at elevating the youth experience, growing community partnerships, and expanding its reach across Central Carolina. With strong leadership in place, the organization is poised to turn the page and shape a future defined by trust, opportunity, and impact.
